IRON MAIDEN Cancel Dutch Gig, Cite 'Health Reasons'

IRON MAIDEN have cancelled tonight's (November 5) show at Ahoy in Roterdam, Holland due to "health reasons," according to a posting on the venue's web site. The concert has been rescheduled to December 13 at the same location.

Although no official word has come down as yet, it is believed that the "health reasons" cited for the cancellation are related to the group's performance in Madrid on Sunday (November 2),where, according to drummer Nicko McBrain's online diary, the "temperature [inside the Palacio Vistalegre venue] went down to what felt like zero. Bruce [Dickinson] noticed it first and then Steve [Harris]. I had my cooling fans working blowing cool air on me and that suddenly went freezing so I had Pete turn them off. It was not very comfortable, I can tell you. A message was sent out to try and find out the reason for the sudden temperature drop but it didn't get any better. We played well but Bruce really felt it more than the rest of us. It made singing a lot more difficult. He was not amused and neither were the rest of us. I thought we played well considering."

IRON MAIDEN's next gig is scheduled to take place on Friday (November 7) at Hala Ludowa in Wroclaw, Poland.
